Ragged Edge Photography was created after I suffered a massive crash exiting Lake Esses at Mallory Park in March 2006 which stopped me racing for the rest of that season. I was testing my new 2001 GSX-R 1000 at the Mallory Park circuit after a successfull campaign the previous year contesting and winning the E.M.R.A 400cc Roadstock Championship and finishing 4th in the Formula 400 championship on our stock engined NC30.

Unlike many other (but not all) photographers of the motorcycle racing sport I have a unique insight into the racing scene due to my experiences whilst racing myself. As a racer and photographer I'm sure I know what you would like to see in your images... knee down, wheelies and action! Using my insight gained from previous experiences I have a good idea at which point on a given track that these things are most likely to happen.

How many times have you done a track or race day and got your knee down at every corner, backed it in to every hairpin or lofted the front over every crest only to find out that the photographer has taken pictures of you bolt upright and on a straight piece of track!

We aim to provide high quality, dynamic images, although the image will only be as good as the rider and their style. What we mean to say is that we can't make you look faster than you really are or get your knee down for you! If you can provide the action then we would love to capture it. At the moment we don't have "track side access" as some of the "pro's" do but we can still produce some fantastic looking images... even from the wrong side of the fence! In the future we hope to rectify this situation but at the moment this is just a hobby for us!

We have a genuine passion for motorcycle racing especially at club level where we get to witness up and coming raw talent in action.

  D3s & 200-400 VR
We use some of the latest and in our opinion the best digital camera equipment on the market today... Nikon. We have the fantastic Nikon D3 and newer D3s which help ensure that the images you purchase are vibrant, pin sharp and of the highest quality, even in low light situations. Attached to the front of these amazing camera bodies we have the equally amazing Nikkor 200-400 VR zoom lens. This combination is unrivaled by any other camera manufacturer giving us excellent flexibity which can make the difference between getting the image or missing it completely. Of course, the best camera equipment in the world won't make a poor photographer a good one but we think our images speak for themselves.
